After we published an article entitled “The funniest PRESIDENT of the Assembly and the most disliked SUPERVISOR in the history of the Brčko District” in which, among other things, we drew the Supervisor’s attention to the OLD CRAFT CENTER in Brčko, which is falling apart, local web portals in the BRČKO DISTRICT started writing headlines such as “RETURN THE OLD GLOSS TO THE OLD CRAFT CENTER IN BRČKO” and, in the meantime, the BRČKO DISTRICT ASSEMBLY immediately adopted a budget revision that includes 60.000,00 BAM for the reconstruction of the town’s Old Craft Center.
It will be very interesting to follow the announced tender and observe which company will get the same, i.e. which company will be the contractor. What we and the citizens of the Brčko District are interested in is the following- What can be done in 60.000,00 BAM and to include the entire OLD CRAFT CENTER?
According to our estimates, very little money has been allocated for the infrastructure located in the very center of the city. The funds set aside, we assume, can only repair the cracked paving and cover the costs of the paintwork.
We wonder if this is just to meet formal requirements or it will be just another cheap show before the elections, which will put wool over the citizens and the Supervisor of the BRČKO DISTRICT’s eyes before the political campaign in which, we assume, much more money will be invested than that set aside for the reconstruction of the town’s OLD CRAFT CENTER.
We can freely assume that, almost certainly, all these decisions are made by individuals who have probably never even set foot in the urban OLD CRAFT CENTER in Brčko and do not understand its meaning.
The citizens of the Brčko District can only remain silent and silently observe whether someone like the Supervisor will fight for their basic civil rights. Either they will silently and helplessly continue to watch the very famous series called “THE DEPARTURE OF YOUNG PEOPLE”, or the film that has already been nominated twice for the Oscar called “THE BRAIN DRAIN”.
In any case, the citizens will definitely welcome the local elections this year as well and decide on the fate of the Brčko District in a democratic way with paper and pencil.
